There's this family who has a syndromic child, but due to the poor education background of the parents, the parents never notice it or perhaps dont even know that their child is special, and so the parents wanted to send the child to a normal primary school, they went register for the child. But the teacher of the school told the parents that the child need to attend special school coz the normal primary school is not suitable for the child. However the parents insisted to send their child to the normal school.
So somehow the principal of the school noticed the case. So instead of just consulting and advising the parent, the principal fetched the child and the parents to the hospital to do a medical check-up for the child. When the report was out, the principal fetched them to the hospital again to get the result by the doctor.
The child was proven syndromic. But the principal never just leave the family alone, instead he even helped the child for the appplication procedures to enter the special school and also helped him to apply for the monthly allowance given by the government to these spcial kids.
It was a true situation happening and that principal is actually a father of a good friend of mine..
I felt so touched by his action, that's the personality each of us should have learnt from..
Sometimes we tend to just let all the responsibility bear by themselves, we tend to think that we've already told them what to do, to follow or not would be their own choice..
But from the principal, i learnt that taking some little actions could actually make a vast differences. A little help to the family to proceed with all those procedures may be easy for the principal but not for the family who obviously is totally lost regarding it.
His action could have changed the life of the child..
So instead of just informing, we should help them up with actions since we have the knowledge, and since we are being so much luckier and being more educative than those who did not..
thanks to the Principal! i'd learn a lot from you! =)
ps: the principal is also a good father, a special one coz he'd still hold his children's hands while walking together on the street even though his children has already entered secondary school. it shows how much he looks into the importance of family bonding..and hehe, i'm not stalking, just that he is really someone inspiring! =)
